Private Practice Therapist Opportunity:
Child Therapist
with specialization in PANS/PANDAS
The Mental Fitness C.R.E.W. (Center for Resilience, Empowerment, and Wellness) provides an integration of evidence-based treatment modalities, such as CBT, ERP, EMDR & DBT, along with collaboration with physicians and community resources to holistically support our clients with mental, physical & environmental challenges so they can increase internal Resilience, expand external Empowerment, and achieve overall Wellness.
We are looking to hire a fully remote or hybrid, independent contractor to work with children under the age of 14 and must have experience and/or interest in being trained in working with PANS/PANDAS children and their caregivers. You can learn more about PANS/PANDAS on our website here.
The practice owner, Joelle Kekhoua, is actively involved in global professional efforts to advance mental health care in neuroimmune disorders. This role offers clinicians the opportunity to learn and grow within a practice aligned with evolving knowledge in this area.

Independent contractor fee split can generate annual income up to $120,000 per year
Expectations:

Experience is preferred but training may be provided in the following modalities: ERP (OCD), DBT and/or EMDR

Skilled clinician capable of engaging clients in the therapeutic process within individual sessions, family sessions, and/or group sessions (dependant on applicants specialization & desired clientele)

Complete paperwork (intakes, treatment plans, progress notes, etc.) in an acceptable and timely manner

Professionalism in accordance with license and ethical standards & practices

Setting and communicating desired work schedule to staff by maintaining accurate availability within our EHR (in-person office used by multiple clinicians on different days)

Down to earth, warm and friendly with ability to stay calm and positive under pressure

Self-motivated, organized and can independently solve problems

Dependable and enjoys a collaborative approach when working with a team
Requirements:

Must have experience in or be willing to be trained in working with PANS/PANDAS children and their caregivers

Be willing to see clients during after-school/evening hours and/or weekends

Masters level degree in counseling field and licensed to practice in the state of Michigan. That license can be any full license that can bill most major insurance companies for mental health services which include LPCs, MSWs, MFTs, and PhD level LPs. We will consider hiring an LLPC and can provide supervision and practice development.

Hold your own professional liability insurance policy (min $1,000,000 each claim / $3,000,000 annual aggregate)

Ability to pass a background check and no previous licensing violations with the licensing board
Special consideration will be given to applicants:

Interested in working with challenging populations (Eating Disorders, self harm, suicidal ideation, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder)

Have advanced training/certification in EMDR, ERP and/or DBT

Have knowledge and experience in working with chronic illness clients (PANS/PANDAS, Lyme & co-infections, mold toxicity)

Has established referral sources and brings a caseload to bring with them
Our practice services private pay clients and electronically bills BCBS/BCN and Aetna insurances only. Preference for applicants who have an established CAQH profile and are already individually paneled with BCBS, BCN and Aetna.
